Meet Our Horses!

Our beautiful horses are the heart of our trail rides, lessons and therapy. The barn is home to many experienced trail horses, each with their own personalities and skills. We have horses to suit every skill level. Most of our horses are 'gaited' which means an extra smooth ride with less bounce. Most public trail stable horses are elderly and are obviously worn out. Our horses have passion and personality making for a lively interaction for our riders during our trail rides.

Braveheart

Braveheart is a mix of Spotted Saddle and Morgan breeds. Although not gaited at the trot, his canter is so smooth it has been described as a flying carpet ride'. Braveheart is very athletic so he is being trained as a hunter jumper to teach our English riding lesson students who want to learn jumping. He is a 14 year old copper-colored gelding standing an impressive 15.2 hands. Braveheart is gentle enough for our beginner riders. Our guests love his curious personality as he loves to pull on zippers and buttons. Braveheart lived the first 14 years of his life in almost total seclusion with his dam (mother) in a wooded area. Now he is enjoying a new life working with his new herd family of horses.

Frontier

FRONTIER is a nice big boned Tennessee Walker gelding, 9 years old and standing a nice solid 15.3 hands tall which is perfect for our bigger riders. He is so gentle that he is considered beginner safe for everyone. He has the beautiful Tennessee running walk so he is smooth when going from the walk into the trot.

Image

Not for the faint of heart, this black beauty is middle-aged at 16 years old, and a full-blooded Tennessee Walking Mare. Image was once shown competetively in modeling classes and seems to know that she is the "Jennifer Lopez" of the horse world! She is spirited and will only tolerate riders who know what they are doing. However, if you are confident, "Image is it," as one guest put it. She has a smooth Tennessee running walk, incredible canter, will steer by leg pressure alone, and is beautiful enough to turn heads wherever you go. Image is the total package and gives her riders trailrides that they never forget.

Jerusalem

The flashiest horse in the barn, this magnificent beauty is a rare breed called a Friesian, one of the breeds that medieval knights used when riding into battle. Friesians are more muscular than our other breeds and naturally lift their legs higher when they move than other horses do. Jerusalem is extremely intelligent, picking up commands quickly and performing in both the ring and on trails. For people who know horses, she is the one that makes them stop and stare with a "Wow!"

Justice

The only 3 year old horse we have ever owned, Justice boasts Six (6) World Grand Champions in his Tennessee Walker bloodlines! His temperment reveals his royal lineage as he is even-tempered and beautifully gaited in his famous 'running walk'. Justice is a stunning steel gray during the winter months and then sheds out to an equally-stunning silver color for the rest of the year. This young horse is 15 hands and still growing. Justice was professionally-trained to bow, park out and stand to be mounted and is unafraid of the things that scare our older horses. We are proud to add this young champion to the team.

Legacy

This stunning gelding stands 15.1 hands and is a dark steel gray/black with 4 white socks and a white blaze. Legacy is a Tennessee Walker breed with a grand-daddy who boasts a World Grand Championship. He is gentle enough for 12 year old children to take on trails and adults love his smooth running walk at the trot. Legacy is in his prime at just 9 years old.

Miracle

Miracle is a stocky-built 12 year old Tennessee Walker. Standing a sturdy 15.2 hands she is muscular enough to carry our bigger riders but gentle enough for 12 year old children to ride. Miracle is level-headed on trail rides and beautifully gaited at the tennessee running walk. Her creamello coloring and gentle nature make her a popular choice in our herd.

Noah

This little gelding stands just 38 inches tall, called a 'miniature pony'. Noah has competed at horse shows in cart-pulling classes and won many ribbons with his previous owner. At Wildfire Ranch he thrills our guests with his 'can-do' attitude, pulling adults and children wherever they wish in his little 2-seater cart. Noah is brown, black and white and very friendly. Both children and adults love receiving old-fashioned carriage rides from little Noah and his little cart!

Phoenix

Phoenix Rising is a 12 year old Missouri Fox Trotter, the same breed as Lincoln. Phoenix is one of the tallest taller than Lincoln standing an intimidating 16 hands. But like Lincoln, Phoenix is very calm, non spooky and amazingly smooth-gaited to ride. Phoenix stands out as a stunning cremel0-palomino coloring. As a result, amongst our guests Phoenix is one of the most requested horses in the barn!

Prince of Peace

Like Jerusalem, this Friesian is a show-stopper for his breath-taking, Medieval beauty. Friesians are from a province in the Netherlands called 'Friesland' - and difficult to find in America. "Prince" is 16 years old, stands 15.3 hands tall and boasts the longest and most luxurious mane we've ever seen on a horse! During the first 8 years of Prince's life he sired over 25 foals because everyone wants a Friesian! From years 8-16 he was professionally-trained and shown like a Hollywood movie star at the "World Horse Expo" in dressage, which is horse-dancing to music. Now that he is here at Wildfire Ranch he will be primarily ridden by owner Cynthia Amnell as the lead horse on trail rides, used in equine therapy and riding lessons. However Prince will also perform in Summer parades and even horseback weddings. We are honored to be Prince's owners for the last years of his extraordinary life.

Seraphim

Seraphim (meaning Fiery Angel of God) is a stunning 16 hand gaited draft mare - meaning a draft cross that is able to gait at the trot like our famous Tennessee Walkers.  She is in her prime at only 6 years old and is gentle enough for the total beginner.  Seraphim is a beautiful paint horse, with white and brown markings making her a favorite with our guests.

Serenity

Serenity is a stunning paint-colored horse, white with brown patch markings all over her body. She is 14 years old and stands an impressive 15.3 hands - tall enough for bigger riders. Like the rest of our herd Serenity is a Tennessee Walking horse and has one of the calmest dispositions of any horse we've ever had the privilege of owning. She is already one of the favorites after only being here 6 months.

Sundance

Our stunning golden Palomino gets looks whever he goes, and has been nicknamed "Fabio" for his long golden hair. Sundance is magnificent under saddle, with a canter that could rock you to sleep. More spirited than Lincoln and Glory, we usually only put confident riders on him as he will test his riders sometimes with a sudden turn left or prancing in pace on the way back to the barn. Regardless, this golden boy is obedient enough to make him one of the most popular horses in the barn.

Valiant

Valiant is one of the most stunningly-colored horses we have ever owned with his Summer coat resembling a metallic gold/silver coloring. The technical name for his color is 'Gruilla' and only 1% of horses have this extraordinary color. As a result Valiant was not gelded until he was 7 years old so that he could be bred to produce babies with his stunning colors. Valiant is in his prime at 11 years, stands 15 hands tall and is the smoothest-gaited tennessee walking horse we have ever ridden on trails. He is gentle enough for beginners to ride.

Vision

This 8 year old Unicorn is a stunning pure white with Ice Blue eyes and pink skin.  The coloring is considered Albino but her breed is a Tennessee Walking horse.  Vision is only 8 years old and brave enough to take the lead on trail rides (the scariest job for a horse on trail).  Vision is a favorite because she is the smallest in our herd  of rideable horses at only 14.3 hands and gentle enough for all of our beginner riders.
